A school where curious kids grow tall

Banyan Hill is an international school for children aged two to eighteen, set among old trees on nine hectares of hillside. Classes are small, the questions are big and every child is known by name.

We believe children learn best when they feel safe enough to be wrong out loud. So our classrooms are noisy with questions, our gardens are muddy with experiments and our teachers spend more time listening than talking.

Three villages, one long path

Children move through three small schools on one campus, each with its own buildings, playgrounds and pace. The path between them is gentle, and so is every step up.

Ages 2 to 5

Early Years

Play is the curriculum. Children build, paint, dig and sing their way into reading and numbers, in two languages from the very first day.

  • Forest mornings
  • Two languages
  • 12 children per class

Primary

Big questions drive every term. How do rivers move? Why do people leave home? Children research, make and present their answers to real audiences.

  • Project terms
  • Daily music
  • Swimming every week

Welcome home

We pair every new family with a buddy family so the first week feels like the tenth.

Questions parents ask us

Children follow an international curriculum from Early Years to Secondary, finishing with a diploma that universities around the world know and respect.

Yes. Many of our families move for work, so we welcome new children every term and plan a gentle first fortnight for each of them.

Our language team works with children in class and in small groups until they feel at home in English, while we keep their first language alive too.

Four routes cover the neighbourhoods most of our families live in, each with a teacher on board for the younger children.

Come and walk the hill with us

Tours run every Tuesday and Thursday morning. Tell us a little about your family and we will find a time that suits you.
